Abstract

Disposing of detergent waste into water bodies, both rivers and sea will affect biota in water, as the results of stated that the effect of laundry waste on nila mortality has a significant influence and differences in each concentration. A research on the design of appropriate technology for processing laundry waste (detergent) is required by using a combination of limestone and coconut shell filter media. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of limestone and coconut shell filter media to reduce detergent content, pH and TSS in wastewater. Quasi-experimental research methods with pre-test and post test design. Population and research samples are waste taken from laundry waste. The research data will be analyzed univariately in a descriptive and bivariate form with statistical analysis using the T-test. The results of the study laundry processing (detergent) using limestone and coconut shell media can reduce the content of detergents (39.75% - 67.14%), pH (0.89% - 4.68%) and TSS (0.00% - 96.72%). T test results show that there are very significant differences before and after treatment, meaning that waste treatment can reduce the content of detergents in laundry wastewater.

Transmission of Enterobius vermicularis is partly due to a lack of attention to personal hygiene. This research is descriptive in order to find out personal hygine and Enterobius vermicularis worm egg infection in pre-school children aged 3-6 years in the village Betelen 1, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The samples examined were 31 samples consisting of 3 years old children as much as 37%, 4 years as much as 29%, 5 years as much as 23% and 6 years as much as 10%. This research was conducted by taking primary data from observations and examinations using the method periplaswab. The results showed as many as 8 children (25.81%) positive found the worm eggs Enterobius vermicularis with behavior poor hygiene , as many as

Abstract

Number of work accidents in Kab. Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra in 2012 there were 837 cases of work accidents, in 2013 it increased to 903 cases, in 2014 there were 1050 cases, in 2015 there were a decrease in cases to 956 cases, in 2016 there was an increase in work accident cases to 1535 cases. This study aims to find and prevent potential hazards by identifying hazards, assessing and controlling risks to workers. This study used the JSA method with univariate analysis. The study population was 155 workers with a sample of 112 respondents. This study uses the Jobs Safety Analysis (JSA) sheet by means of observation and interviews and then presents the results of the analysis of the checklist and questionnaire in tabular form. There are two stages of high-risk work with a score of 20 (16-24) in the uncoiling section, two stages of high-risk work with a score of 20 (16-24) in the accumulating section, three high-risk stages with a score of 16 (16-24) in the forming section and sizing, four high-risk stages with a score of 16 (16-24) on the packing section. Risk control is carried out at high risks that produce a large enough impact. It is hoped that the company should carry out risk control in the form of engineering by assembling machines that are safe, productive and efficient.

Abstract

The results of a survey conducted at the Poltekkes campus of the Ministry of Health, Padang, found that there were lots of plastic waste scattered about and had not been properly managed. The research was conducted through FGD activities involving students of the Department of Environmental Health with Cleaning Service by measuring the Knowledge, Attitudes and Behavior of Cleaning Service and Students of Semester VII. The number of cleaning services is 31 people. The data analysis was done qualitatively. The results showed that the amount of plastic waste produced at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang was an average of 42.33 kg per week. Knowledge Level, Cleaning Service is quite high. have a good attitude. Cleaning Service at Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang has conducted Empowerment in Plastic waste Management by participating in sorting plastic waste and being active as customers at Kesling waste bank. Empowerment of Cleaning Service and Students contributed to the formation of a Waste Bank at Poltekkes. Leaders should provide separate garbage collection places for wet and dry waste. The campus community, especially students, should participate in disposing of garbage according to its type. So that plastic waste can be reused, Kesling Department should provide training for reuse. The leadership's attention is needed to make regulations on reducing plastic waste at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang. The formation of a Waste Bank at the Poltekkes of the Ministry of Health in Padang can be an example in other institutions by utilizing cleaning service personnel.

Abstract

Malaria affects almost all components of the blood, and thrombocytopenia is one of the haematological abnormalities encountered and has received much attention in the scientific literature. Plasmodium infection can cause abnormalities in the structure and function of platelets. This study aims to spatialize/map the spread of malaria events, locations and physical and chemical environmental conditions of breeding places of malaria vectors and analyze the effect of Plasmodium sp density on anaemia and thrombocytopenia in malaria sufferers in Talaud Islands Regency in 2018. The research sample was malaria sufferers in April. Until August, who came to check at the Community Health Center in Talaud Islands Regency to obtain data on Plasmodium sp density, anaemia and thrombocytopenia, then coordinate data on the homes of malaria sufferers and Anopheles sp habitat and the physical and chemical environmental conditions of Anopheles sp habitat that were surveyed using tools Global Positioning System (GPS) is processed using the help of Arcgis 9.3 program. To analyze the effect of plasmodium sp density on anaemia and thrombocytopenia using Chi-square test statistics. The results of the study The spread of malaria incidence and the distance of Anopheles sp habitat with malaria sufferers' homes in Talaud Islands Regency in 2018 were spelt out. Physical environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) and chemical environment (pH and salinity) in the habitat of Anopheles sp. in residential areas of malaria sufferers are Temperature 27.9 - 29.8 0c, humidity 70.5% - 80.4%, pH in the range 5.6 - 8.1 and salinity 0.04 - 1.35 ‰. The density of Plasmodium sp in 34 malaria sufferers consisted of 18 cases +, 10 cases ++, 5 cases +++ and 1 case ++++. Statistical test results have a relationship between Plasmodium sp density against anaemia and thrombocytopenia in malaria sufferers in Talaud Islands District in 2018.
